Most of the time, I brush it off as a cultural difference…however…that teacher was a creep. I find that there’s always pieced of Japanese manga that are strange and questionable. 1: Dou kyu sei Asumiko Nakamura 4.38 5,026 ratings470 reviews The touching Boys’ Love story that inspired a hit animated film, in an all-new translation for digital and print.

It’s kind of hard to explain, but it was really flow-y? The lines were really fluid I guess, which is something I’m not used to when it comes to manga. It’s not that I didn’t like it, it was just kind of hard to get used to. It was cute, it was fast paced and I really enjoyed reading this one! I mean the love story is literally the entire plot that spans over the three volumes with little hiccups along the way, as any relationship would have. This manga tells the love story of two teenagers discovering themselves and honestly, it was adorable. For two students who had never before had a real conversation, what does the future hold now that they are constantly together? Follow these boys as they experience excitement, betrayal, depression, and love that unyielding, crazy, poignant, and fantastical kind of love. Due to some extenuating circumstances, he is now being tutored by one of the many school idiots, Hikaru “Beyan” Kusakabe. I appreciated the small details they included about the characters, like Kusakabe's band and Sajou feeling sick when fe rides trains.Rihito Sajou, a hyperventilating overachiever, winds up attending a high school where the only requirement for graduation is knowing how to write your name. The third chapter is the exception to this, and it's also quite possibly the best chapter in regards to adding some depth and character development to the story (though it doesn't even involve Kusakabe). The interactions between Sajou and Kusakabe felt natural and adorable. The basic pattern for the chapters is that there's some sort of drama (usually caused by pretty basic insecurities) and the two of them have a bit of a brief divide before reuniting stronger than ever-and then making out. Heads can be too small for the bodies, and the shirts sometimes puff out. There art stilt-legs, squibbly fingers, and oddly curved forearms. Nakamura is a shy boy who falls in love at first sight with another boy-his dreamy high school classmate Hirose. Some of the individual images are especially awkward and badly drawn, but for the most part it's whatever. The flowery trees and some of the other background stuff can look pretty, and I really like Kusakabe's hair. The radial quality of the pupils was initially neat, but it also started being a bit of a distraction. The first thing that bothered me about the art was its overemphasis on the upper eyelids, and how the eyes (especially Sajou's) can have an unnatural swoopy shape.
